Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take me to complete each course?
Each course is expected to take around 14 hours to complete, except from the recap courses (4,8 and 12) which will take around 7 hours.
Some people will take more time than this and others will take less, it depends how thoroughly you work through the activities.

What components make up the course?
There is an activity booklet with additional worksheets and a variety of audios with listening and speaking activities. 

Can I work through this at my own pace?
Yes, it is self-paced and you can spend as much or little time on the course as you like. We advise that you keep to some kind of schedule so you’re dedicating a certain amount of time each week.

What is the recommended amount of time I should spent on the course each week?
The ideal amount of time is about 30 minutes every other day.
If you spend 1-2 hours a week on the course it will take around 10 weeks for you to complete.
If you spend 2-3 hours a week on the course it will take around 6 weeks for you to complete.
If you spend 4-5 hours a week on the course it will take around 3 weeks for you to complete.
(Courses 4, 8 and 12 take around half the time to complete)

Is this course appropriate for beginners or do I need to know already know some Spanish?
If you're a total beginner it’s recommended to start from course 1 but if you’ve already done some Spanish you can start at a higher course.

I already know some Spanish, which course should I start with?
It depends on how confident you feel and how long ago it was since learning as its very easy to forget things. It’s always good to recap everything, if you’ve got free time on your hands there’s nothing wrong with starting from course one. However if you’re unsure, feel free to send us an email so we can assess which level would be best for you.

Is it a subscription or one-off payments?
We have different options, you chose the one which fits around your life and how much you’re wanting to learn. If you want to pay course by course you can do, or alternately you can pay for all 12 courses at once for a reduced cost.

I don't have much free time, what is the best way to be able to fit this course into my life?
The audios are ideal to be listening to whilst doing other things, for example driving somewhere or whilst doing the ironing so you don’t have to free up time for these.

Why should I do this course and not an online one?
We learnt English through listening, speaking, reading and writing so why not take the same approach when learning a second language. With online courses (eg. apps) you don’t write pen to paper, this action of physically writing down helps you make the connection between the spelling of the word and the pronunciation. 

Why should I do the one-to-one online session?
This session isn't essential to the course, however the majority of people will find it very beneficial as you can ask any questions you have. You can also go over pronunciation to check that what you’re doing is correct.

How do I get hold of the audios?
The audios are sent to you via email so you can access them on whichever device is easiest for you.

Do I get a discount if I order the course for more than one person?
Yes, if there are multiple people completing the course together there is a reduced price of £15 for each additional booklet and worksheets (as long as same as shipping address and only one set of audios to one email address).
