The possessive apostrophe s
We can’t use the possessive apostrophe s (‘s) in Spanish, instead we have to phrase it in a different way. For example, we can’t say ‘my son’s age’, instead we have to say ‘the age of my son’ which is ‘la edad de mi hijo’. Another example is ‘my husband’s birthday’, instead we have to say ‘the birthday of my husband’, which is ‘el cumpleaños de mi marido’.
